Orvieto Traditions and Tastings

Sometimes it doesn't take that much to regain your strength and energy: a break from work, a destination to explore, the right company. Follow our suggestions and book our tour through the history and flavours of Orvieto

The specific tour we suggest revolves around wonderful town of Orvieto.
Among the unmissable attractions is the Duomo, a splendid building erected in the distant 13th century under the pontificate of Pope Urban IV.
One is immediately struck by the Gothic facade with its mosaics and bas-reliefs and by the Chapel of the Holy Body.
At the back of the imposing building we find the Palazzi dei Papi, dedicated to popes Martin IV and Boniface VIII.
We then delve into the magical atmosphere of the private medieval underground caves.

After visiting the archaeological treasures we definitely need a tasty break!
So we’ll move to an oil mill and visit its tool museum
. We’ll continue with a light lunch with homemade products in oil.
Our tour continues with a walk in the picturesque medieval village of Orvieto, then we’ll dicover Umbrian wines through a visit to a local winery.
We’ll learn the methods of wine production and then all around a table for a tasty aperitif!
